CREATIV-EXPERIENCES Garcia-Ordoñez, Alvaro is an experiential Artist, born in La Peña Cundinamarca, Colombia. He studied Arts at the National University of Colombia, in Bogotá, where he specialized Sculpure in 1990. He won a scholarship to Sweden, Switzerland and Germany, where he started to work with his proposal “Floating Sculptures”, in which the body is a mean to express the social and political events in the context of his home country, incidents which have generated abuses, absences and pain. His approach is visual proposals about social, cultural, and religious conflicts with frequently use natural objects. Empty packages, sugar-cane paste (panela) weapons, antipersonnel mines - crutches, virgins, saints or divine children are used to depict the recruitment of minors by the actors of the conflict, wars or current migration, among many other currents of a river of problems that do not seem to stop.
